The Vihantasalmi Bridge is one of the largest wooden bridges in the world built for a main road. The spans of the bridge are 21 + 42 + 42 + 42 + 21 a total of 168 meters. The effective width of the roadway is 11 m and the sidewalk is 3 m. The structure is a three-span king-post truss, in which the load-bearing elements are made of glue laminated timber and the deck is a wood-concrete composite structure.
